: I was thrilled to find this bulletin board and found so many stories that really hit home...
This was the 1st sentence of 'another love story' & I just had to use it myself since I feel the same way.
I was also happy to read 'the stuff dreams are made of' because I have been chasing the love roller-coaster over the Atlantic for 17 years now. It has been ever since a foreign exchange student from Stockholm graced the campus of my high school.
So much has happened in these long years, but then again, it is always like we were 17 & just crazy about each other whenever we meet up. The distance is not the hard part for me it's the 'when' will we get married part. Probably never if it hasn't happened by now, but your story was inspiring & lifted my spirits & brought memories of plans to the forefront of my mind.
The first time I went to Sverige was in 1985 & it was really wonderful! Everywhere I went & everyone I met was so generous, helpful & kind. I didn't try to speak any Svenska at that time because people were happy to practice their English.
One time at a small train station in the middle of nowhere I sat with an old man who didn't speak any English at all. I showed him photos of my family in California & of my beautiful horse & I gave him some American quarters. He, in return, talked to me smiling & gave me lots of Swedish krona & an enormous candy bar!
Being in Sweden felt safe. The parks were so pretty & even the metro was filled with decorations & art.
I think you will be happy living in Sweden & coming back to the states to visit or giving relatives a destination to come & visit you!
So when all is said 'I do' & done you may turn on the radio & hear artists singing (like Robyn) & know that the guy who produces her & others is cared for dearly by someone in California.
