An interesting fact to add is that children are very respected here in Sweden. Teachers here encourage the children to speak out if they are being abused or even "spanked". Serious action can happen if the child says that their parents are hitting them... and usually preference leans towards the child's story. And another note... absolutely NO physical punishment is allowed (even if it's a small slap on the hand). As a result, violence in Swedish society is very low. I agree that this is the best way...
