Lena Hjelm-Wallen today made a statement regarding the use of lawful executions in the United States:

"Although circumscribed by international rules and standards, the death penalty is still not unlawful. This brutal and irrevocable form of punishment is a relic of the past and has no place in a modern, civilized society.

"More and more governments recognize this,'' she added.

But the Swedish minister said: "The Swedish government finds it all the more deplorable that some countries are moving in the opposite direction, making increasing use of the death penalty.

"Many people in my country have been particularly saddened and upset that in the United States, in particular Texas has made such extensive use of the death penalty in recent years.''

Please understand the individual states of the United States are sovereign unto themselves. The United Nations, and in particular, its sub-commissions, have no jurisdiction over conditions and methods of law within this country. Please ask your government officials to work on perfecting your own country and stay out of the affairs of the United States and its individual states.

As a citizen of the U.S., I feel the execution of persons who have committed especially heinous crimes against innocent citizens is an ultimate duty of a government to protect its own citizens. It is an internal version of the right of sovereign nations and states to war against those who would harm its citizens.

Please concern yourselves with those activities within your own borders and do not profess yourselves to be in possession of any absolute "truths."

(Ask the Heier family about the failure of the state to execute the murderers of their loved ones by Satanic worshipers in Tennessee.)
