After a year of research, I would have to disagree that the Brack's originated in Scotland. The Brack name has been found in all the German speaking countries and some genealogists have suggested to me that the Brack's came to England with the Normans at the time of the Conquest. Later the name creeped Northward to London and on to Durmham and Yorkshire where I have been told it is the thickest. Then it moved further north to Northumberland and over the border to the Scottish counties of Roxburghshire & Berwickshire.
I would certainly like to hear from other people searching the Brack name especially in Scotland.
