: Thank you I have done extensive research on the Kilburg family of the Eifel Region of Germany (aka Kylburg, Kylburg, Kilberg, Kiehlburg, Kilburger, and Kilburger and a variety of other medieval phonetic spellings). One family member, Dr. Johann-Philipp Kilburger, in the 17th century left the Rhineland-Palatinate to enter the service of Gustavus Adolphus II and became the Special Attache' of the King of Sweden to Riga and Moscow. In 1674 he wrote a landmark book entitled :A Short Report Concerning the Russian Commerce, As it Shall Be Handled in 1674 With Imports and Exports In thee Whole of Russia. He died in 1721 leaving 7 children. I do not know if there is a tie to the Swedish Kilbergs, but it is of course possible.
